Five Pound Pete

I was given the trail name of Five Pound Pete by fellow hikers during my 2017 thru-hike because I was carrying a five pound base weight. Base weight is your pack with all of your gear excluding food, water and fuel. I hiked from Boulder to Durango following sections of the Continental Divide Trail and the Colorado Trail.

Boulder to Durango Thru-hike

In 2017 I hiked from my front door in Boulder to my soon-to-be front door in Durango. The hike linked trails together to get to the Continental Divide Trail and then followed the Colorado Trail. To accomplish this with a lighter pack I made a tent, quilt and pack. Adventure Pro magazine produced a video and published an article about the gear I made.
